Abbey Cottage - St Andrews
Abbey Cottage is privately owned and run by the owner.It is situated near the harbour and cathedral. The Abbey Wall, which enclosed the Cathedral precincts, borders the garden of the house. The wall was built in the 12th Century and raised in the 16th Century. Part of it forms the back of the house.
Abbey Cottage is a rather rambly house which was built in 1781. It was owned by Colonel Balfour in 1820, and was rented out during this time. It was a well known St.Andrews house in the 19th Century
